❗
This is why I’ve seen a considerable improvement from Alex Aster’s previous series.
Highlights
The twists and all the action by the end of the book were really good.
What to Expect
- Enemies to lovers to enemies
- Slow burn
- Trials and peril
- Death and destruction
- Magic
- Betrayals & secrets
- Prophecy
💡
The sequel, Stormside, will be coming on Nov. 17, 2026!
What I Missed
- I get nervous when too many things happen in just one book. It makes me wonder how much content can the sequels support.
- The romance was better than in Lightlark. Still, the push and pull takes too long to unravel. So, when the characters get stuck in the “hate” part, it’s unreal that they don’t decide to move to the “love” part of the equation, especially when actions speak louder than words.
