My Most Anticipated Books of 2026
2026 brings some big titles. From expected conclusions to hyped series to sequels we’ve been waiting years to hear about. Let’s check what we can add to this year’s TBR.

1.
Ignite the Infernos by Avy Asher

What to Expect
This is probably the book I’m most excited about. Spark the Flames, the first installment in this series, was probably one of the stories I enjoyed the most in 2025. It is also part of my dragon special video. In here, we follow Ever and Aeson. For her, they are enemies, but life has different plans for them. They are dragon shifters, but a different kind. Their transformation is more animal than human in the sense that they seem to be first dragons, then humans. In fact, they are called drakes. Expect an intriguing plot, a burning couple, sensitive content and a strong female main character.
2.
A Queen Crowned in Flames by Hazel McBride

What to Expect
This is the sequel of A Fate Forged in Fire. The book had some refining to do, but I see the potential in the world and story. So, I’m intrigued how the author will further explain everything in this conclusion to the series. We have dragons, a religion manipulating the population, a war going on and some sexual tension between our two main enemies/lovers. First, we had fire, now we have burning flames. Who will burn at the end?
3.
Sparking Fire Out of Fate by Brigid Kemmerer

What to Expect
It seems we have fire as a theme on this list. But, this is a different kind; no dragons this time either. This is the finale to an LGBTQ+ series I’ve followed through. My favorite characters Tycho and Jax have had a rough relationship and I hope they can bridge the distance. There are enemies coming from different fronts. The kingdoms are fragile. Magic might be be extinguished if evil succeeds. But let’s not forget love…
4.
Father Material by Alexis Hall

What to Expect
One of my favorite male-to-male romances has always been Boyfriend Material. It’s a fun romance between two opposites, who manage to help each other to overcome their personality struggles. They evolve to Husband Material and now to Father Material. I expect humor, a bit of passion, a battle of wit and sass and everything Alexis Hall knows how to do well.
5.
Burn of the Everflame by Penn Cole

What to Expect
A long series with the slowest of slow burn romances finally comes to an end…There’s conflict everywhere. We have humans vs the descendants of gods. Then, our main characters go through every challenge possible. Enemies to lovers, best friends to lovers, forbidden love, all the tropes are here. War has boomed. There have been secrets and a lot of mystery. And meanwhile, we’ve seen Diem grow and unfurl her wings with every book. Now, it seems the world is about to really burn.
6.
ACOTAR 6 by Sarah J. Maas

What to Expect
I don’t know what we can expect from this, but it’s finally happening. By the last quarter of the year, we’ll be able to hold this jewel in our hands after such a long wait. Will Elain narrate her story? Will we see Nyx? Questions, questions… Meanwhile check out my review on the main trilogy and everything you need to know about this series.
7.
Case File Compendium by Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou

What to Expect
Of course Danmei would be on this list! I’m on the fourth book in this series and this year the 7th and 8th book are seeing the light. I have a lot to catch up on still. However, I know I can expect tough passion, aggression and a lot of mystery. This is one of the few Danmei series I’ve come across that are set in modern times. A little though, the whole relationship is born from a dark place, meaning there’s important sensitive content not everyone might enjoy.
As you can imagine, there are many more promising books coming out this year or that have already been published. If you’re curious as to some others, stay tuned to my new video coming very soon!
